Summary

Cruagh Mountain and Tibradden Ridge from Cruagh Forest Car Park (Loop hike)

Length km: 14.5 Climb m: 436 Duration hrs: 4.5 to 5 hours

Description

We will climb to Cruagh Mountain(521) on forest roads and tracks, passing through Coillte's broadleaf section of the forest. Crossing over to Tibradden forest, we will climb to the ridge on the Dublin's Mountains Way track. Along Tibradden ridge(466), we see panoramic views of the Dublin and Nth Wicklow Uplands. Having browsed the Neolithic cairn, we return on a lower path in Cruagh Wood back to the Car Park.

The pace will be steady/ slow.

Terrain & River Crossings- Forest roads and tracks. Some sections include boardwalks. No river crossings

Gear Recommendations: Usual layers, full waterproofs essential. Hiking poles recommended.
