(If yes, complete Accident / Medical Incident Report Form)
Description
The focus of this walk is a visit to the Shackleton Centre, the world's only institution dedicated to Sir Ernest Shackleton's life. The centre uses cutting-edge technology, dramatic digital story-telling and interactive displays to bring his extraordinary achievements to life. We will also visit St Dominic's Church, now Athy Library. Designed by Father Philip Alcock and John Thompson between 1963 and 1965, it is regarded as Ireland's first modern church inspired by Vatican II. We will also include a walk along the Barrow and will have lunch in Bradbury's Restaurant.
