Summary
Lough Dan to Glendalough via Kanturch and Scarr
Length km: 14.4   Climb m:  489  Duration hrs: 5 hours 15 mins
Description
Starting at the trail at the end of the road by Lough Dan, we head up to Kanturch and, from there, continue onto the Scarr ridge. We walk the length of the ridge, and aim for Paddock Hill, joining the Wicklow Way there and following it to our end point, Glendalough, where refreshments are to be had at the hotel or the kiosks behind the hotel.
Terrain & River Crossings

Hill and forest tracks and trails for the most part. Some stiles to be crossed but all manageable. Area heading towards Kanturch can be muddy if there has been a lot of rain but it was fairly dry for the recce.

Gear Recommendations

Usual hiking gear. If weather has been wet prior to the walk, gaiters recommended for Kanturch area.
