Description   Walk from Portmarnock to Malahide.  

Starting at Portmarnock Dart Station at 11 a.m (see 'Other Info' below), we walk a short distance along Station Road and Strand Road to Golf Links Road, from where we cross the trail through the Burrow to access Portmarnock Beach. We then walk northwards, on compacted sand, to the Velvet Strand, passing the 'Southern Cross' historical monument. From there we follow the coastal path, passing the Carrickhill Martello Tower and Hicks Tower, to Malahide village.

There is an opportunity to stop for coffee at the Gourmet Food Parlour over-looking Portmarnock Beach and there are a few public toilets along our route. At the walk's conclusion, you will have the option of having lunch in Gibney's, Malahide's best known hostelry, or else of heading straight to nearby Malahide Dart Station.

None - the route along the beach will be on compacted sand.
