Summary: A scenic circular walk along forest and open paths in the remote, wild and historic Glenmalure Valley. In rain or sunshine this is a magnificent walk

Length km: 10.5kms   Climb m: 376m    Duration hrs: 4 hrs.
Description
Starting at Baravore Car Park, we follow a gravel path along the Avonbeg river to Glenmalure (An Oige) Hostel where we take a moment to remember its past occupants and ghosts. We continue uphill on a forest track to an area where we can view EAS waterfall (in the distance) and then continue on up to Fraughan Rock Glen where Fraughan Rock Brook cascades down. Retracing our steps to Fraughan Rock Junction we take a track back to the hostel and Baravore CP.

Terrain & River Crossings

Forest roads & clear established tracks. A couple of sections are on rough, boulder-strewn tracks.

Gear Recommendations
