Summary
A walk through the history of Cabinteely, Brennanstown, Lehaunstown/Loughlinstown, Tully, Ballycorus and Rathmichael and as well as providing us with an opportunity to explore the modern-day development of Cherrywood.

Description 

Starting in Cabinteely Park at the cafe, head out to Brennanstown Road. If possible we will follow the Carrickmines River to the Carrickmines Dolmen. Proceeding to the Cherrywood development we stop at the Tully Cross and the ruins of Tully Church. Next we head to Lehaunstown Castle House which is being renovated. On to Ticknick Park and to Puck’s Castle, and from here to the Ballycorus Lead Chimney and Carrickgollogan Hill top. We then walk through Rathmichael Woods and the Dublin Mountain Way, stopping at the old Rathmichael Church. Next we proceed to Cherrywood town centre and catch the LUAS at the Brides Glen terminus, we alight at the second stop Lehaunstown, then follow Brennanstown Road back to Cabinteely Park and our starting point.

Terrain & River Crossings

Quiet roads, park paths, gravel tracks. No rough open ground except maybe some wet ground on access to Rathmichael old church.
