Summary

Length km:13.5  Climb m: 325   Duration hrs: 4.5

Description  Bog Of Frogs , Loop Walk , Howth Head, Dublin.  Meet at the entrance to Howth Dart Station to start walking at 10am. We will walk around Howth Harbour heading up Ballscadden Road , then out onto the Cliff Pathway, passing the Bailey Lighthouse with expansive views over Dublin Bay . When we come in sight of the Martello Tower just after Red Rock we turn right uphill towards Sheilmartin Hill then across Howth Golf Course to the Bog of Frogs itself and possibly might even see a few Frogs on the route . Then back down into Howth finishing at the Dart Station. 

Terrain & River Crossings - Road Walk at the start until we get on to Cliff Pathway then a mixture of developed track and some uneven surfaces . On the recce some  pathways are overgrown in parts with ferns at shoulder high and some prickly vegetation but all passable.


Gear Recommendations 

Usual gear for this time of year . however , be aware this route does not have a lot of shade so if hot weather predicted please make sure you have plenty of water.
