Summary
Aughavannagh to Fenton's Pub via the South Prison, Lugnaquilla and the Glen of Imaal Rifle Range
Length km: 22kms   Climb m: 900m    Duration hrs: 7.5 hours

Description

Starting in Aughavannagh, the first 6kms are through the forest, then out to open ground as we ascend the Ow Valley up through the South Prison and on to Lugnaquilla. From here we follow the circuit of the Glen of Imaal Rifle Range in an anticlockwise direction, passing over Cannow, Camenabologue and along Table Track. We pass into the forest through Knickeen and finish at Fenton's Bar

Gear Recommendations

Wet gear, plenty of layers, couple of pairs of gloves and poles are essential.

Other Information

The outward trip to Aughavannagh will go via Kilmacanogue and the return trip will come via the M50 to Glenageary. The Kilmacanogue pickup is still an option. We will arrange a lift back to Kilmacanogue from Glenageary for anyone who needs it.

There will be two lunch stops.
