Route: Fernhill Car Park – Barnacullia Road – Blue Light Pub – Murphy's Stone Quarry – Ticknock Car Park – Ticknock Forest – Wicklow Way – Fairy Castle – Two Rock Mountain – Three Rock – Fernhill Car Park.

Description

Starting from Fernhill Car Park, we follow the path to Barnacullia Road before a short road section past the Blue Light Pub. Turning left at Murphy's Stone Quarry, we climb to Ticknock Car Park and continue through Ticknock Forest to join the Wicklow Way.

From there, we head to Fairy Castle, continue across Two Rock Mountain, and follow the Dublin Mountain Way to the masts on Three Rock. The return is via forest tracks descending towards Barnacullia Road, with a short road walk before rejoining the signposted Fernhill path back to the car park.

Gear Recommendations  

Usual summer hiking gear including poles and sunhat.

Long sleeves and long trousers recommended as ferns and gorse are dense in places.

This is a fantastic walk with stunning views across Dublin Bay, making it a truly rewarding experience. We will adjust our pace to suit the day's temperatures, ensuring everyone is comfortable.  It is also recommended to bring sufficient water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
