Description 

Howth Cliff Loop Walk/ Bog of frogs/Purple marked route.

Meet entrance Howth Dart Station to commence walk at 10.00 am. We will walk down Harbour Road to join Balscadden Road, uphill, to the purple marked cliff path. As we gently rise there are expansive sea views to enjoy, sea cliffs dropping straight into the open water+. Following the purple route we continue around the cliff edge and onwards to bog of frogs.. As we turn inland there are sweeping views of Dublin City and the peaks of Wicklow. The route continues over golf club and a shady woodland section back to the village.

Terrain & River Crossings

Starting on road, the cliff pathway is a developed pathway but has some uneven surfaces. It has been recently cleared of overgrown ferns in parts so there are no obstructions.


Gear Recommendations 

Exposed in parts and very dry underfoot. Poles recommended. Hat, sunscreen and sufficient of water if a hot day forecast.
