Description 
A 5-hour trip with 4 hours on the island - to include a tour and history of buildings in the harbour area, a walk to the highest point of Lambay, and a barbecue with refreshments before leaving.  It's an easy and short "C" walk.  Photos are not permitted indoors.

Gear Recommendations 
As appropriate for the weather.  We're in an open boat, 30 minutes each way, and it may be cold & windy at sea. Otherwise, comfortable walking shoes to allow for wet fields.  Consider taking drinks/snacks, as the barbecue may not start until 2:30pm or so.

Meeting Point Details/Link

Alongside White's Laundry in Malahide Marina - at 11:15 for an 11:30 departure by boat. If travelling by car, there is ample meter parking at €1.50/hour (cash or card) close to White's - allow for delays on the return.  By Dart, the 9:40am at Glenageary (9:45 Dun Laoghaire, 9:52 Blackrock) arrives in Malahide at 10:38.  It's 15 minutes from the station to White's, leaving time to pick up tea/coffee on the way.  There is a later 10:00am option at Glenageary arriving at 10:58, but that's cutting it fine if there are delays.

This outing, on Monday 17th August replaces a Friday walk that Paul and Mark Quinn were scheduled to lead on 14th August. There are 12 places in total, limited by the licensed capacity of the boat.  The outing is weather dependent and will only be confirmed a few days in advance when the weather forecast can be ‘relied upon’.
