Summary
5 peaks hike – Maulin, Tonduff East, Tonduff South, War Hill and Djouce

Length km:  19 Climb m:    950 Duration hrs: 7.5

Description

Loop A walk over 5 peaks – Maulin, Tonduff East, Tonduff South, War Hill and Djouce – starting & finishing in Crone Wood.

The Summer months are a good opportunity to do this hike as the open ground on the Tonduffs and War Hill is wet & boggy the rest of the year.

Start in Crone Woods car park and take the direct, steep ascent through Crone Woods to Maulin

Leave the civilisation of Maulin to begin our trek in the wilderness across to Tonduff East (aka Corrig) along a seldom seen trail and then on to Tonduff South on open ground.

And then the hard part, the descent from Tonduff South to the Dargle valley floor across rough, open ground and ascent to War Hill.

From War Hill return to civilisation by traversing to the back side (West) of Djouce via the Coffin Stone.

Familiar descent Eastwards off Djouce to meet the WW and follow WW North.

On the descent to the bridge over the Dargle cut right into Powerscourt Deerpark woods to take a very steep descent through the woods to reach the base of Powerscourt Waterfall.

Short walk along the Powerscourt entrance road before ascent through the beautiful beech wood to emerge at the top near Ride Rock from where return to the start point in Crone Wood car park.
