Incident to report (yes/no)?
(If yes, complete Accident / Medical Incident Report Form)
Description
We head out from Glenealy GAA carpark, soon reaching underused woodland trails, meandering upwards before breaking out onto a path with great views over upland farms towards the sea. There is a steep and rocky climb up Carrick Mountain, where we stop for lunch. We head back on the other side of Carrick, staying high at first, before turning and descending steeply along more forest paths.
B walk terrain. Mostly rough forest trails, some paths, and a rocky scramble, where poles are a hindrance, to viewpoint and lunch stop.
Gear Recommendations
Strongly recommend long trousers as there is a short but very prickly section of gorse. Poles if you need them for descent but you will need to be able to put them on your back for the steep ascent when most people will need to use hands. Otherwise, usual summer gear and lots of water.
