Description 

We will pause for refreshments / lunch at Woodlands Café in Crawfordsburn Country Park at Helen's Bay.  

The 71-hectare park has been a popular public amenity since 1971.  

It began as the estate of Henry Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Clanbrassil in 1670.  His father-in-law was Henry Moore, 1st Earl of Drogheda.

Hamilton developed several streets in Dublin that bear the name of his wife's family: Henry Street, Moore Street, North Earl Street and Drogheda Street - subsequently Sackville Street named after Lionel Sackville, 1st Duke of Dorset who was Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1730 to 1737. It was renamed 'O'Connell Street' in 1882.

Participants should obtain a paper day-return ticket from Connolly to Bangor from any manned ticket office at an Irish Rail station in advance (e.g. Bray, Dun Laoghaire or Connolly).  It is not possible to obtain a ticket online for the entire journey and this approach would streamline our connection on arrival at Belfast Grand Central.
