Summary:

Loop walk skirting White Hill

Meet at 9:45 for a 10:00am start. Leaving the Ballinastoe Woods carpark, we proceed with a steady incline , at a C pace, through forest tracks and trails before joining the Wicklow Way on path and boardwalk to White Hill. We continue on up to Fox Rock, where we bear right and down through Mason’s Glen, which is covered with purple Ling and Bell heathers. This walk includes quiet forest tracks passing Scots Pines (with lovely bird song), and beautiful views over the Vartry Lakes, North Wicklow, and the Irish Sea.

Two easy river crossings (both almost dry during recce). Terrain includes a mix of forest roads and both stony and grassy tracks, and a section of boardwalk.

Gear Recommendations 

Poles are recommended. Wet gear.
