Description
We meet at Connolly Station ticket barrier at 10.00 am (see 'Meeting Point Details' below for travel info). From the station we follow the Royal Canal Greenway to Binn's Bridge. We then head a short distance to Botanic Avenue where we enter Griffith Park, a leafy park in a very attractive riverside setting. We follow a path through the park across the River Tolka and then follow the river as it rushes over a series of weirs on its way to Dublin Bay. We exit the park at St Mobhi Road, from where it is a short distance to the National Botanic Gardens. We have arranged a private guided themed tour starting at 11.30 am (see 'Other Information' below for tour theme detail).
The walk to the Botanic Gardens is 4.1 Km. We complete the walk, after lunch/coffee in the Gardens, by walking to Drumcondra Station, a distance of 1.9 Km. Note return trip options in 'Meeting Point Details' below.
