Description 

Starting from the centre, the walk uses a very minor road to enter the forest and follow the edge until the route reaches its northern point. It then climbs up to the ridge and passes the first rocky peak 317. The route then follows the ridgeline past 365,381 and 330. The ridgeline enjoys great views weather permittingto the east the Irish sea and to the west the full view of the eastern peaks of the Wicklow Mountains. It's like a smaller version of the Derrybawn ridge. For those interested, the option  to scramble up the peaks will be available( study boots required for those interested).

After finishing the ridge, we will descend through this mixed and loosely planted wood(unlike most coillte woods) and then retrace our steps to the start point.

Instructions to reach community centre are as follows N11 leave at Wicklow Rathnew exit. Turn right at end of main street Rathnew signposted Rathdrum. Follow this road for about 6km. As you enter Glenealy take first significant right and you will see  the car park in about 130 meters.
