Description

PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER THAN USUAL START TIME:

Cruagh Woods to White’s Mountain, Knocknagun, Mass Rock, Glendoo & Cruagh mountain to Cruagh Woods.  We circumnavigate Oldboleys by dropping down to the Glencree valley and return to Cruagh Woods via ‘the kettles’, Glendoo and Cruagh mountains.

This is a figure of eight loop walk straddling the Dublin and Wicklow mountains including excellent views across the Wicklow hills as well as Dublin City and Dublin Bay.

.
Terrain & River Crossings:  A variety of forest road, forest tracks, sleepers, open mountain (some soggy boggy!)  Four stream crossings and some bog water pools.  A 150m road portion on Military Road as we look across towards this summer’s wildfire damage.

Gear Recommendations :  Some mucky spots on open ground at White, Knocknagun & Glendoo mountains etc so gaiters are essential as well as poles, if you use them.
